The new special edition no. 13 “Poetics of Emptiness” is centered around the unique ability of paper as medium to convey a compelling experience of emptiness and meaning, absence and presence, through a delicate interplay of light, shadow and ink on a textured surface – the same contours along which the entire history of mankind can be traced back for thousands of years… and very unlike the smooth, synthetic digital surface which can never express positive and sublime nothingness.
Among philosophical meditations on the 8 fundamental layers of emptiness, and complimentary image series, the sculptural portfolio edition will feature 8 original reproductions of paper works from international artists that each encapsulate the subtle presence of emptiness through manual techniques of pressing, folding, embossing and perforations along with a broad palette of specialized off-set prints.
The sculptural limited edition is crafted and assembled purely by hand and released in a maximum edition of 250 copies.
